Leadership Announcement – CEDA Executive Director

On behalf of the CEDA board of directors, we are pleased to announce the appointment effective April 1, 2025 of Vinh Huynh to the position of Executive Director of our agency.

Vinh Huynh has lived in Winnipeg since 1987. He arrived in Canada with his family in 1979 and they lived in the Parkland West before he moved to Winnipeg for schooling. He recently retired at the end of June 2025 from 32 years of service as a teacher, vice-principal and principal. The school communities of General Wolfe School, Shaughnessy Park School, Hugh John Macdonald School and Gordon Bell High School are indelibly in his heart. Together with his wife, Rebecca, and their three children, they love to explore the many places in Winnipeg including dining at local places to feast. Vinh revels in biking everywhere, whether it is for recreation or for pragmatic transportation. Every bike ride is a living embodiment of his interest and commitment to service and leadership in community.

We would also like express our sincere gratitude to all CEDA staff and in particular the leadership team for their incredible dedication, professionalism, and heart-work during this period of transition.

CEDA was established in 1979 when seven inner city parent councils came together to form a new community development organization with a focus on inner city education program development, community well-being, and advocacy. We look forward to our ongoing journey of “helping communities, help themselves” with Vinh’s considerable administrative experience, his compassion for community, and vision for leading change through shared values.

Sincerely,
