On behalf of the CEDA board of directors, we are pleased to announce the appointment effective July 1, 2023 of Jordan Bighorn to the position of Executive Director of our agency. This appointment is the result of CEDA’s multi-year succession plan to support the next generation of leaders to assume this senior executive management position to lead our organization and serve the inner-city community.

Jordan has been working at CEDA for the past 9 years as Program Manager of the CEDA Pathways Program, Co-Director Intern, and most recently as the Co-Director of Operations.  Prior to his employment at CEDA, Jordan worked with the Baha’i Community of Canada supporting an Urban Indigenous Youth Program, and at Southeast Collegiate as a guidance counsellor and lodge manager.

We are honoured to have Jordan’s amazing experience, wisdom, caring and vision in his role as the Executive Director and leader in our community.

We would also like to thank Tom Simms for his over 40-years of service with CEDA. Tom will be working part-time with our agency as the Director of Development with a focus on supporting key community projects that CEDA has developed.

CEDA was established in 1979 when seven inner city parent councils came together to form a new community development organization with a focus on inner city education program development, community well-being, and advocacy. We look forward to our ongoing journey of “helping communities, help themselves” with Jordan’s leadership as the Executive Director of CEDA.
